So, you have recently been diagnosed DID or you know someone who is. Most likely you will want to read any thing you can on the subject. You may have many questions and even wonder if it is possiable, or you may feel very alone. I hope through these links that you may find comfort and  connection, but be careful as you travel. Many things that you may read could be emotionally triggering. It is not necessary to read anything that you are not ready for. I have carefully selected some sites and articles I have found to be interesting and helpful.
I would also like to invite you into the only world I have ever known. A place where you can get to know me and learn what DID is like for us.

You have made it to a mental health site designed especially
for those newly diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, other wise known as Multiple Personality Disorder.
A disorder associated with chronic childhood trauma and abuse.

Healthy childhood events and memories are processed and stored in the mind forming the original personality of a child.
If during these early developmental stages of the personality; a child is repeatedly traumatized  with out ever having a chance to recover or heal from traumatic episodes then a dissruption in the development of the personality may occur. Traumatic events or memories are stored in the conscious, but kept seperate or severed from the other; healthy events and memories. With continued abuse these severed sections will form and develope seperate personalities (alters) that will go undetected by the main or dominate personality causing unexplained disruptions and memory gaps as the mind switches between these levels of consciousness.
If you have been diagnosed as DID/MPD, I would like to share in your healing journey and be support and friend to you.
A warm welcome to you as you enter the only world I have ever known.
